Sigríður Þorgeirsdóttir introduced ECT in the context of a conference on New Materialism. Her introduction was deepened by a panel conversation that followed her lecture. For more information, see here.

  • Speech at the Icelandic Science and Technology Council

Björn Þorsteinsson gave a speech June 1, 2018 at the Icelandic Science and Technology Council where he talked about the need to cultivate humanity through education in the age of the fourth industrial revolution. The title of his speech, „The Child and the Cellphone“ refers to the story of Mamoudou Gassama who climbed up a building in Paris while spectators used their cellphones to take photos of the child hanging from the balcony of the fifth floor. In a similar manner, we can not save children in schools with more technologies alone. We have to cultivate human encounters in a low tech educational settings. Here is the speech in Icelandic.

  • Conference on Modes of Dual-Aspect Monism

Donata Schoeller is an invited speaker at the international interdisciplinary conference on Modes of Dual-Aspect Monism, taking place in the Black Forest, June 14th to June 17th in Germany. She will present the philosophical background of ECT, elaborating how an experiential-embodied approach to meaning can overcome dominant cartesian cuts between body and mind, in theory as in practice.

  • Swiss Economic Forum

Donata Schoeller was asked to give two Masterclasses on Close Talking and ECT-Methods  in the context of the Swiss Economic Forum in Zurich, May 30 and June 13th. For more info, see here.
